The Atlantic City Country Club is proud to present the following short videos about the Club and the key players in its long and storied history. Golf legends Arnold Palmer and Nancy Lopez were interviewed as part of the project. Palmer played the course when stationed as a recruit at the nearby Cape May Coast Guard Station in the early 1950s. Lopez participated in the 1975 U.S. Women’s Open at Atlantic City Country Club as a 17-year-old amateur.
These videos may be seen here or on interactive video kiosks located throughout the Clubhouse. The features include The History of Atlantic City Country Club as well as features on John J. McDermott, Leo Fraser and James “Sonny” Fraser. As caretakers of this remarkable venue, we see it as our responsibility to not only preserve the history but ensure that it is shared with all who visit and beyond. These videos truly capture what makes Atlantic City Country Club so great and all the colorful characters that were part of it. Enjoy.
